Being LGBTQ on the Job Market
September 13, 2024, 3:00pm (EST)
Presented by the Lambda Classical Caucus with support from the Department of Classics at the University of Maryland
Being an LGBTQ person can present its challenges on the job market: How do I communicate my pronouns? What do I wear to my interview? Will this college or university be a safe and productive space for me to teach and conduct my research? Whether we are writing cover letters, interviewing, or attending a campus visit, we often feel we must navigate these questions with care. In this panel, we will hear from professional classicists at a variety of career stages on how they have presented themselves and their research for the job market, and we will set aside time so that we can respond to your questions.
Register here to participate.
Please note: Though we appreciate our allies, this event is for members of the LGBTQ community only please (but Q stands for both Queer and Questioning)!
Please also note: As a webinar event, attendees' identities are known only to the hosts and panelists and not to each other.
